My rating for this would be 3.75.Most people consider Gilly Debeau an old maid but her best friend, Margaret, knows that Gilly has a secret from years ago. Gilly is in her 80s and decorating her Christmas tree when she receives a present from her niece, Ann. When she goes to bed that night she hears the new, lovely windchimes even though her window is closed. The chimes transport Gilly back to when she was 18 and traveled on the Titanic with her father. Gilly is charmed by the violinist, band leader, William.
Ms. Webb shares a lovely tale of young romance that Gilly experiences on the doomed ship. The basic description and detail of the ship are nicely woven into the story. The romance is charming and, of course, sad. The characters are not deeply developed in this short story and the romance itself is pretty quick. There were typos that could have been corrected but still I enjoyed the sweet romance and quick read.
I also liked the excerpt for Ann's story, Only Yesterday, and think I might like to read that time travel romance too. I recommend this quick novella to readers who like time travel romance, and stories about the Titanic. I think it gives a good idea of the author's easy writing style.

I really liked this book but, to me, it wasn't time-travel. It was in the woman's mind as she thought back in time. It was still a good read though.
This is a sweet and bittersweet tale of love found and lost. You are warned in the beginning that it will bring tears to your eyes and it sure did.
I got this e-book because I got and read "Touched By Angels" then bought the sequel "A Prince for Jenny." Both excellent Books.
"Christmas In Time," is a good story you will want to read because it is the sequel to, "ONLY YESTERDAY."
I was put off the Titanic story "A Christmas in time" as soon as Gilly Debeau, dressed for dinner and put on her sapphire necklace. This story follows too closely to the last Titanic movie. However the writing is good, good characters and the short story moves quickly along. Peggy Webb is a good writer so pick up this story to lay the ground work for an even more enjoyable story the sequel "Only Yesterday." Ann Debeau is introduced in the "Christmas In Time" short story. "Only Yeterday" is Ann Debeau's story.
Peggy Webb's sharing of an aunt's experience on the Titanic was both refreshing and heartfelt. Even though the basic setting for memory shared was in April aboard the Titanic, it's centered around a Molly Brown Christmas party and a eighteen year old girl's first love. It is a story that will touch your heart. Enjoy!
In 1982, Gilly Debeau is dying of cancer. She only thinks about her Great niece Ann and
spending time with her best friend Margaret. When she receives wind chimes from Ann
before Christmas, she is transported to a voyage on the RMS Titanic with her father when
she was eighteen. There she met the love of her life - Wlliam Wesley. An interesting
blend of fact and fiction. Must read. Check out the sequel - Only Yesterday
I found this story to be charming and very sweet. Of course, there is almost no connection to reality but that isn't really necessary to enjoy the story. One thing, though, is the matter of Gilly's age. It is mentioned that she is 80 and that the year is 1986. That is impossible if she was 18 in 1912 on the Titanic; Gilly must be 92 at the time of this story. Also, I found the ending a little rushed but it still brought on the sniffles. If you are in the mood for a fairy tale love story, I would certainly recommend this one.
I liked the two story lines in this book. As far as it being a Christmas story is a bit of a stretch for me. I also like to read Christian fiction. I expected to see some consequences for Gilly's sexual adventures. Granted, her true love died, but I thought she would have ended up with a child. At the beginning of the book, the author takes us back in time to explain why Gilly is an old maid. To me, the transition to the past and then back to the present seemed very abrupt. This book added another possible insight into what might have happened on that fateful trip of the Titanic.
